This Privacy Policy explains how IELTS Primer ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use https://ieltsprimer.com and related services. IELTS Primer (operated by the individual owner in Canada).

1. Information we collect

Account and profile

  • Name, email address, password (stored as a secure hash), account role, and login sessions.
  • Preferred learning language and profile settings you choose.
  • Billing country and subscription-related account data.

Practice and learning data

  • Practice activity summaries stored on our servers, such as practice-day logs, module accuracy snapshots, and skill snapshots.
  • Some in-session practice state may be stored locally in your browser (for example, reading or listening attempt progress) in addition to server records where applicable.
  • Writing submissions and related mentor review data when you use writing features or assignments.
  • Speaking recordings or transcripts when you use speaking features that store or process submissions.

Contact form

  • Name, email, optional subject, and message when you submit the public Contact form.

Payments

  • Card payments for eligible countries are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects and processes payment card details on their secure checkout pages. We do not store complete card numbers or card security codes (CVC) on our servers.
  • We store subscription and payment metadata such as plan, status, invoice references, Stripe customer/subscription identifiers, payment amounts, and refund request records.

Technical and usage data

  • Authentication cookies/session tokens used to keep you signed in.
  • Visitor insight events (for example, page views, module selection, signup or checkout started) with route and coarse geo signals derived from request headers where logged.
  • Server logs, error diagnostics, and security audit records where applicable.

2. How we use information

  • Provide, secure, and improve the Service.
  • Manage subscriptions, billing, and customer support.
  • Deliver mentor-related features where available on your plan.
  • Process refund requests and resolve billing issues.
  • Comply with legal obligations and prevent abuse.

3. AI and third-party processing

Depending on features you use, data may be processed by service providers such as:

  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
  • Hosting and database providers (for example, Vercel for application hosting and a managed PostgreSQL provider for account data).
  • Microsoft Azure Translator — optional Reading translation features when enabled and configured.
  • LanguageTool or similar grammar services — optional writing grammar checks when a grammar service endpoint is configured.

We do not sell your personal information. We share data with providers only as needed to operate the Service or as required by law.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and browser storage for authentication, session management, theme preferences, and some practice progress. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but some features may not work without essential session cookies.

5. Retention

We retain account and subscription records while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for billing, support, security, and legal compliance. You may request deletion subject to legal and operational requirements (for example, retaining payment records).

6. Your choices and requests

You may update certain profile settings in your account. To request access, correction, or deletion of personal information, contact us through the Contact page. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling requests.

7. Children

The Service is intended for learners preparing for IELTS and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.

8. International processing

We and our service providers may process information in Canada and other countries where our infrastructure or subprocessors operate. By using the Service, you understand that information may be transferred to jurisdictions with different data protection rules.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised.
